How to run wiring to our Dash Mount

We’ve had a lot of requests for a guide on how to route wiring to our dash mount to power your accessories so as promised, here it is! 😊

(please note the same applies to right hand drive vehicles but on the opposite side)

Step 1

You’ll want to start by removing the grab handle cover on the passenger side.

Step 2

Using a suitable tool, pop off the trim under the dash as shown and remove it.

Step 3

Look under the dash, behind the pivi screen and you will see a “passthrough”

Step 4

Pass your wires/cables through the opening as shown.

Step 5

Route your wiring/cables as shown. Once you finish wiring up your accessories you can tuck your wiring/cables into the cavity and zip tie them in place.

Step 6

You can see the wire/cables can be routed to the fuse box behind the glove box as shown making it very convenient to power your accessories.

If you’re looking to route your cable to the outside of the vehicle, follow the next steps. If not, you can stop here, reinstall everything, and neatly tuck it all away.

Step 7

Removing the lower cover on the passenger footwell will expose this boot where the harness runs into the engine compartment.

In our case we are routing a cable for our gmrs antenna which we mount to our dash mount. Grab a wire coat hanger, straighten it out, and tape the cable to the tip of the coat hanger as shown.

Poke a hole through the boot and pass the coat hanger with the cable through it. We recommend using a bit of silicone lube to help slide the cable through

The cable will pop out in front of the fuse box in the engine bay as shown. From here you can wire up your antenna as you’d like.
